This is an 1 bedroom, detached village house with extra store room and courtyard garden.
This village house, dating back to the 1920s, sits on the upper part of this thriving village in the heart of the Apokoronas countryside.
Used by a local family as a summer home, this little cottage with original thick stone walls and tiled floors feels almost timeless as a true Cretan home, however with some modern comforts including double glazed windows, air con, fitted kitchenette and bathroom/wet room.
Main house: you enter into the lounge/dining area. To the right in a separate room is the kitchenette and the wetroom is set off this. At the other end of the lounge is the double bedroom.
Store room: To the side of the house accessed externally is a large room used as storage but easily converted to a second bedroom.
Outside: the plot is fully enclosed and is paved and cemented at the side and front to offer a courtyard style garden. A covered awning offers shade in the heat of summer, and there is parking on the small road at the front of the house.
Location: The Stylos village itself has a really nice feel to it — quiet and local, but not sleepy. There’s a grocery shop, a mini market, and a lovely central square with big shady plane trees, traditional cafés, tavernas and a lovely green park bordered by small streams, as this area is famous for its water.
Kalyves is only about 10 minutes by car (5.5 km), with a beautiful sandy beach, clear blue water and all the facilities you need. Kalyves town has ATM, school, buses and everything for day-to-day life. Chania city is about 25 minutes away.
The house comes fully furnished, and with some simple repairs is immediately livable, or popular with long term tenants. Whether you’re after a permanent home, or a simple lock up and leave holiday base, Vicky’s Village House ticks a lot of boxes for the price.
